Day 47: Rolling Stones
Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Principle
Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place.
Last month, we talked about avoiding making plans that do not agree with God’s purpose so that we will not enter into confusion (Day 16: The Daily Champion). Now, we see that when we commit our plans to the Lord, they will be established.
The word commit is interesting because the word-picture describes it as if “to roll, like stones.” It paints the picture of someone struggling to get a stone to roll, and then the inertia takes over, and the stone no longer requires your help. A seemingly invisible force takes over. That’s called momentum.
When you commit what you’re doing – work, life, marriage, etc. – to the Lord, he will step up the inertia, and the momentum will take over.
You may be working to establish a business – a new venture or product – commit your plans to the Lord and let Him help you with the supernatural inertia of getting it “rolling.”
Jesus said it this way, “I tell you the truth if you have faith… you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
