Day 354: Love Wins

Proverbs 20:28

Love and truth form a good leader;
sound leadership is founded on loving integrity.

Principle

Leadership that is founded on love and truth is secure.

Very few leadership books talk about the two most significant characteristics of a good leader—they are love and truth. If a leader wants to secure his position, he will do it by loving integrity.

Love never fails.1 Corinthians 13:8

Love is exalted above all other attributes of a strong believer, including prophecy, the phenomenon of speaking in divine utterance (tongues), and even knowledge. Amazingly, it is more important for a leader to have the attribute of love than it is to know everything.

Unfortunately, love is often misunderstood to be simply a feminine quality and attribute. Men are often very reluctant to demonstrate love but are shameless to let you know what they know.

Interestingly, love is aligned with truth. In other words, love isn’t deceptive.

Look at this amazing description of love and apply it to your leadership for your family, business, or civic cause:

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
