Day 249: The Spirit of Jealousy

Proverbs 6:34

For jealousy detonates rage in a cheated husband; wild for revenge, he won’t make allowances.

Principle

Husbands have an internal warning sign – jealousy – a holy discernment.

Most people think of jealousy as a negative trait, but in reality, it is a signal to us that arises when the one with whom we are committed strays. A husband has this internal warning within his spirit.

This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, under her husband’s authority, goes astray and defiles herself, or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife. – Numbers 5:30

Husbandry is the practice and art of cultivation. A husband is in the positional authority to provide, protect, promote, and empower his wife. His words are seeds sown that produce a determined harvest.

Just as a farmer knows his field and cares for it, nurturing and drawing out the best that it offers, a husband watches for, promotes, and draws out the best in his wife. The farmer also is aware of trespassers – invaders onto his property.

I want to be clear that this isn’t something to play with – this spiritual sense must be carefully confirmed – don’t jump to rash conclusions. This is a matter of serious spiritual discernment. Don’t allow delusional thoughts to lead you astray.
