Day 230: The Good Wife
Proverbs 18:22
The man who finds a wife finds a treasure,
and he receives favor from the lord.
Principle
A good wife is proof that God favors you.
I can’t tell you how many men have confessed their disappointment in their marriage to me. It is a regular occurrence at conferences and church services. With a huge sigh of disappointment, they complain, “I want a good marriage, but I don’t know how to start.”
I recommend that you start with yourself. Don’t try to change your wife. Change yourself and allow her to see a change in your life. In most cases, the wife will be so moved by your change that she will want to get on board.
Today, I spoke at a church; a lady came up to me to thank me for the FivestarMan book – she exclaimed, “We’ve been married for 18 years, but after FivestarMan, my husband changed things subtly, but those changes made a profound difference in our marriage.”
I must also say that some women will not get on board with their husbands. It is unfortunate and disappointing. Some women seem to have a Jezebel spirit. Jezebel is a woman who personifies a woman with evil intentions. Her name means “without cohabitation.” In other words, she is a married woman who has not partnered with her husband. She has no intention of being united as one. She is independent-minded and will not follow the lead of her husband.
