Day 201: I Am Clean

Proverbs 20:9

Who can say, “I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin”?

Perfection isn’t the goal – excellence is.

Let’s face it – we’ve all blown it. None of us are perfect. That’s not the goal. As we strive toward living authentic manhood, there are times that we’re going to blow it, but perfection isn’t the goal – excellence is.

Excel means to “exceed in a fixed measure, to abound, to overflow.” To be a FivestarMan is a man in the passionate pursuit of authentic manhood. In other words, as we understand the five purposes deposited within us, we’re getting better and better at them. Remember our motto: Champions do daily what the average do occasionally. So, let’s push ourselves to be ever improving.

We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:8)

Paul is saying we’re a work in progress as we are being transformed into the image of perfected manhood – namely, Jesus.

This is good. I must admit that in my own living I would like to say that I push for perfection. Until today I did not consider excellence as you hammered it in today’s daily champion. Thank you.
