Day 291: Scandalous Behavior
Proverbs 18:03
Doing wrong leads to disgrace, and scandalous behavior brings contempt.
Principle
Your gift may usher you into greatness, but a lack of character will escort you into obscurity.
It’s now in the playbook for young upstarts to use scandalous behavior to get attention. The scandal is plotted and schemed to promote their personality. So, character is no longer valued—becoming a caricature is—a distortion or ridiculous exaggeration. I find it embarrassing for them. The value of infamy has become equal to being famous. Unfortunately, their foolishness is being rewarded by this perverted culture.
It’s one thing to see a former child star-bursts through puberty and manipulate their fans into their trickery. It is another for grown men to use the same tactics.
Frankly, it’s disgusting and a sophomoric representation of manhood. Actors, music artists, politicians, and even preachers use scandalous behavior for personal gain. What is so disappointing is that many of these guys are gifted.
Your gift may usher you into greatness, but a lack of character will escort you into obscurity.
Let’s represent authentic manhood with integrity. We don’t need schemes to have influence. We do not want infamy—we want influence—impact based upon our character and governed by our convictions. That’s what it means to be a FivestarMan.
