Day 98: Better Than Gold!
Proverbs 8:10
Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Principle
Wisdom is the Principal Thing.
Almost everything has an exchange rate – gold at this moment is worth $1,303 per ounce – my weight in gold would be worth $4.1 million. At times in history, gold has been used as a currency. Silver also. However, our Advisor tells us that there is something greater than silver, gold, and even rubies – it is instruction, knowledge, and wisdom from God. It’s God’s Currency.
That phrase can trip people up, but it really describes the manner in which God deals with mankind. God doesn’t deal with us in our currency directly. However, He does deal with us in His currency – which is a superior currency than ours. His currency is Wisdom. In fact, Wisdom is called the Principal Thing. In the Bible, the Principal Thing is called the Tithe – or the First of the Tenth. So, God’s Tithe is Wisdom.
When we ask God for provision, His response is always dealt with in His currency – wisdom, knowledge, insight, witty inventions, favor, or work.
