Day 94: Sure-Footed

Proverbs 4:12

When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; you will not stumble when you run.

Principle

God wants you to have a smooth course for your feet – to be sure-footed.

A few months ago, I had an injury from my workout routine – the arches in my feet were strained from the high-impact movements. The pain became excruciating – shooting up my leg – it was difficult to walk – especially going up and downstairs. I used this Proverb as a confession of faith. When I would take a step and experience pain, I would speak this out loud, “my steps are not hampered, and I will not stumble.”

Fortunately, my feet are almost 100 percent back.

Pain is a messenger – it alerts us to the trouble to take the necessary action to avoid even more destruction.

Men at times will have a philosophy to “work through the pain.” That may sound manly but isn’t always wise to do, especially when it comes to the pains of bad decisions.

The benefit of reading Proverbs each day is that we gain skill and godly wisdom to comprehend the purposes and ways of God. In that, we can have a clear direction, avoid pain, and run without stumbling.

God doesn’t place stones in your path to cause you to stumble. Share on X
