Day 357: One Happy Parent

Proverbs 23:15

Dear child, if you become wise,
I’ll be one happy parent.

Principle

There is nothing greater than seeing your children walk in wisdom.

Today, I read something that my daughter wrote on her blog. She masterfully expressed how this last year, she stepped out in faith to be entrepreneurial rather than get a job working for someone else. She clearly defined her goals, set her work hours, turned off the phone, and scheduled email replies and customer service.

To say that I was happy is an understatement. I became one happy parent because she demonstrated incredible wisdom beyond her years.

My son recently made a huge life decision that required much prayer and careful consideration regarding his work and income. He made strategic plans and worked hard toward his goals. Now, he and his wife have their businesses and are thriving.

Once again, I was filled with happiness to see my son make wise decisions.

I don’t want to leave out my first daughter and her husband. This year has been a tremendous step of faith with launching a new company. The challenges of their company weren’t because they couldn’t find customers but because they were forced to find craftsmen with a work ethic to keep up with the demands. Being forced to add so many workers and two shifts to fulfill orders is real pressure. However, they’ve responded with wisdom and are working on a plan to reflexively take care of their explosive business.

Now, please understand I am not boasting in pride; I am dancing with joy. I’m one happy parent because my children are walking in wisdom.
