Day 353: God’s Purpose Prevails
Proverbs 19:21
We, humans, keep brainstorming options and plans,
but God’s purpose prevails.
Principle
The quickest way to succeed in life is to know the purposes of God and take action upon them.
We talk a lot about having wise counselors, advisers, and mentors in our life. The primary purpose of Proverbs is to communicate life experience and wisdom for living to spare us the expense of pain. So, we certainly encourage you to seek the counsel of wisdom. We strongly recommend that you look for mentors; however, you must remember that the greatest wisdom comes in knowing the purposes of God. What is His original intent for mankind, and more specifically, what is His purpose for you?
I meet men who are constantly pursuing new ventures in business. Or, coming up with a new scheme, they boastfully talk “blue sky” vision and huge numbers; all the while, they are unfaithful in the little things. They think that they’re too big for such minutia. They hit it big once, so they believe it is beneath them to get into the gutter of small matters.
I’ve known entrepreneurs that if they spent their time in direct pursuit of their business rather than talking about it all the time, they might make a living and accomplish their dream.
If you’re going to succeed in life, you will need to explore the purposes of God and get involved in them.
What is my purpose in business? What should I focus on? What must I do today that will get me a single step closer to my goal?
What is my purpose as a husband? Where am I leading my family? Does my wife know my family’s vision? Is she in agreement with me?
