Day 350: Calloused Climbers
Proverbs 16:29
Calloused climbers betray their very own friends;
they’d stab their grandmothers in the back.
Principle
Some men have hardened their hearts and are so determined to get their way that they will do evil to anyone.
There are some very self-centered men out there. They will do anything to get ahead. They will use any tactic and scheme as long as they can get their way and accomplish their goals. It doesn’t matter who gets in their way; they will stab their grandmother in the back. Their only loyalty is to themselves.
When I was young, I naively considered that these people knew that they were doing evil and their consciousness would correct them. Now I realize that they justify their actions and, at times, believe that they are hearing from God and doing what He wants them to do.
The time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God. –John 6:2
It is pretty frightening to consider – there are people who believe that they are hearing the voice of God do evil toward you and consider it an offering to Him.
Their violence and antipathy come from hardened and embittered hearts. They are unreasonable, even delusional, in their conversations. They raise their voices, use strange language and threaten. Their violence is without measure. They do not consider anyone innocent; they are ruthless beasts.
