Day 342: You Have a Cause

Proverbs 8:10

I prefer my life disciplines over chasing after money and God-knowledge over a lucrative career.

Principle

Life disciplines and God-knowledge will get you where you want to go more than money and power.

As men, we are designed with an entrepreneurial drive, which empowers us to pursue the means to meet our needs, grant the desires of our families, and finance our purposes. However, it’s not about cars, clothes, and cottages—it’s about our cause.

As we pursue our purpose, we instill life disciplines and apply God’s knowledge to meet the challenge of our cause. As others chase money and climb ladders for success, we find our significance in a cause. Money isn’t the goal, and titles aren’t a prize.

However, money is a tool, and titles are positions of influence. It will take money to accomplish our purpose and titles for the currency of influence. So, don’t go to extremes on either side. Poverty certainly won’t help your purpose. We’ve also been warned that riches can be distracting. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize.

Remember:

You have a purpose to pursue—as you work disciplines and add knowledge, you'll get there. Share on X
