Day 320: Seeds of Strife

Proverbs 16:28

A troublemaker plants seeds of strife;
gossip separates the best of friends.

Principle

When strife takes root, it will bring division.

We’ve talked about strife being the manifested presence of evil. We cannot underestimate the destructive power of strife. It is important to know how strife grows into such an evil force.

It begins with the seeds of gossip.

When the Church began to increase, they faced the possibility of strife entering their fellowship. It all started with racial division with widows — the Grecian Jews began to complain against the Hebraic Jews because favoritism was in play with food distribution.

If this issue wasn’t addressed quickly, the Church could face tremendous repercussions. There is a progression in the division, and it begins with gossip.

Gossip matures to become strife. Strife becomes evil work. Evil work becomes manipulation. Manipulation becomes witchcraft. Witchcraft is the sin of rebellion. Rebellion is the sin of division.

We must be careful to uproot the seeds of strife before they take root.

Remember:

Uproot the seeds of strife before they take root. Share on X
