Day 283: Wealth Without Trouble
Proverbs 10:22
The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
Principle
The wealth that God brings into your life is a blessing.
If we’re not careful, we can buy into the popular notion that wealth creation can only happen if you do something evil. Sure some do evil and profit from it – drug dealers, sex traffickers, porn peddlers, those who manipulate currencies and charge usury; however, if we live a righteous life, those people will never make a dime off us.
Biblical wealth accumulation is an example of those who feared God and walked according to His ways. It is recognized as such a direct link to His blessing upon a person’s life that we’re warned not to take personal credit for it.
You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” (Deuteronomy 8:17)
We are then admonished to remember the Lord, for He gives us the ability to produce wealth. When we remember that God is the one who empowers us to produce, then greed or pride in wealth is a non-issue.
I’ve known wealthy people who were anti-prosperity because they didn’t want to give God credit for their wealth. They claimed that it all came from their hard work and creative abilities. That’s foolishness and destructive.
