Day 254: The Storms of Life

Proverbs 11:25

When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.

Principle

You can have confidence when facing storms.

We all face storms in life. As long as we live in this world, we will meet the challenges of a frustrated creation.

For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. – Romans 8:20

The false notion that Believers are immune from storms causes some to question their faith. We’re not immune from storms, but we can undoubtedly face them with confidence. Jesus demonstrated his confidence when he met a storm.

The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped, and all was calm. Luke 8:24

How did he handle it? He rebuked it. Jesus knew that His Father God didn’t orchestrate this storm – it was a byproduct of the frustration of creation.

So, when you face a storm in life – don’t assume the posture that God is putting you through this – have the courage and confidence to rebuke, and you’ll find yourself on a solid foundation when the storm is over.

Storms roll through, but the righteous have a firm foundation. Share on X
