Day 232: I Want to be a Man
Proverbs 20:11
Even children are known by the way they act, whether their conduct is pure and whether it is right.
Principle
Within the heart of a boy is a man wanting to express himself.
We received this email:
“My dad is always bringing me books to read. I couldn’t understand why he gave me a book entitled, The Resurrection of Authentic Manhood. I hadn’t noticed that the book had gone missing from it sitting on my dresser. Then my son asked me strange questions – “Did you know that Pastor Sawyer’s dad was in the war?” – “Did you know that his dad went to heaven?” – And then he said, “Pastor Sawyer respected his father because he didn’t do bad things, and he loved him.”
I went into my 8-year-old son’s room to see him asleep with his arm cuddling the book Pastor Sawyer wrote. After he awakened, I asked him, “Why are you reading such a hard book? This book is written for adults.” He looked at me and said, “Momma, I want to be a man!”
This fatherless boy will face many obstacles in his journey toward authentic manhood – one of the reasons that FivestarMan exists – we want to help boys become men.
