Day 211: Don’t Be Stuck Up
Proverbs 30:13
Don’t be stuck up and think you’re better than everyone else.
Principle
We’re not better than other men – but we’re not less either.
Do you have a healthy ego? Do you think more highly of yourself than you should? Or do you struggle with not having any self-assurance?
The old saying is true, “For every mile of road, there are two miles of ditch.”
You can border on narcissism or be completely insecure – either is unhealthy. The Apostle Paul demonstrates a balance in his ego as a man. His confidence was not in himself but his identity in Christ.
I do not think I am in the least inferior to those “super-apostles.” – 2 Corinthians 11:5
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. – Galatians 6:14
As men passionately pursuing authentic manhood, we must stand tall, firm, shoulders back, knowing who we are as men – living unto the dignity of manhood. We must also be men who know that our strength is in Christ.
