Day 209: The Back of the Dragon

Proverbs 28:18

Walk straight—live well and be saved; a devious life is a doomed life.

Principle

The best path is the straight path.

It almost seems too elementary, but it is true – walk straight – live well.

God has given all of mankind the gift of salvation. He has provided an easy path – a straight path to living well and being saved. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Yet, many choose a devious life – even though it is a doomed life. The word devious means pervert, twist, or crooked.

Not long ago, I had the opportunity to ride a Harley on The Back of the Dragon – the VA Route 16, the two-lane ribbon over the three mountains between Tazewell and Marion, Virginia. The ride was terrific – twisting turns through three mountains – it’s an incredible ride. However, it could be dangerous for those who aren’t seasoned riders or tend not to stay focused.

In life, you’ll have to navigate some pretty dangerous circumstances. If you ride the back of the dragon (speaking of the devious path of Satan), you will find life very difficult – very dangerous. If you’re devious – you’re doomed.

Remember:

Keep your eyes on the road - don't get too distracted by the scenery around you. Share on X
