Day 135: Do Not Despise Discipline

Proverbs 15:10

It’s the school of hard knocks for those who leave God’s path, a dead-end street for those who hate God’s rules.

Principle

Discipline reveals legitimacy.

As one son said, “When I was 18 years old, I thought my dad was an idiot. Now that I’m 25 years old, it’s amazing how much my dad has learned in the last 7 years.”

Discipline never seems pleasant when delivered, but after it produces good results, the person becomes grateful for it. Discipline also does something amazing – it gives a child a sense of belonging and legitimacy.

The discipline that I’m referring to is whole training and education (relating to the cultivation of the mind and moral values and draws upon the purpose).

The very act of reading, The Daily Champion shows me that you do not despise discipline. You’re not satisfied with the school of hard knocks. You’re not going down a dead-end street of life. You’ve yielded your will and desire to be brought up as a legitimate son of God!
