Day 132: Chasing Fantasies
Proverbs 12:11
A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.
Principle
A man who follows worthless pursuits is lacking in common sense and is without understanding.
God has given men an incredible gift – the ability to imagine, to have dreams, and visions. This gift is incredibly powerful when used for shaping and inspiring an idea. However, if this gift isn’t connected to the purpose of authentic manhood, a man could easily begin chasing fantasies.
The current culture of young men is obsessed with playing fantasy games. Many of them have given up the field of contest for the comfort of the couch. They’ve degraded their adventurous spirit into a make-believe world. Their characters on screen are conditioned, swift, skilled, and have agility; however, their reality is anything but the hero on screen.
God has bigger plans for you than sitting on the couch playing fantasy games. He is calling you to step out onto the field of contest.
