Day 120: Office Politics

Proverbs 30:10

“Do not slander a servant to their master,
or they will curse you, and you will pay for it.

Principle

Don’t use malicious tactics and scheming against coworkers so that you can get a promotion.

As faithful men, we do not use tactics and scheming to get ahead. Our promotion comes from the practice of integrity, hard work, and results. Those who rely upon putting others down to look good to their boss end up losing everything, including their job.

Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ. Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God. Good work will get you good pay from the Master. Ephesians 6:5-8

We don’t just serve under a boss; we serve through our boss to Christ. In this way, our confidence for promotion doesn’t hinge on one person. We rely upon God for our promotions.

Remember:

When we serve faithfully to another man, we qualify ourselves for our own. Click To Tweet
