Day 106: No Unsettled Claim

Proverbs 16:7

When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies be at peace with him.

Principle

When you please the Lord, you’re at peace with men.

Reading the stories of the Kings of Israel is very similar to the drama of a reality show. God would graciously deliver the people out of trouble for them only to follow the lead of a disobedient king. He would erect symbols and memorials for other gods; the people would prostrate before idols and spiritually prostitute themselves. God’s hand of favor and protection would withdraw – enemies would rise against them – overcome and defeat them – the collateral damage would be massive. Then the people would cry out to God and ask why He abandoned them.

By reading these stories from the cheap seats, we can be pretty hard on the examples of their failures; however, we need to be aware that the same cycle can be repeating itself in our own lives.

When we live to please the Lord, God makes our enemies settle down and be at peace with us.

It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. (1 Peter 2:15)

There are no unsettled claims against you. Share on X
