Day 102: God Gave Man A Zoo
Proverbs 12:10
The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
Principle
We have a responsibility to properly care for what we have rulership.
In modern culture, there is propaganda that Christians are hostile toward the environment and have antipathy toward animals. There is nothing further from the truth.
When God gave man rule over all creatures – fish, birds, livestock, and wild animals – it came with a responsibility to properly care for them. God also goes into great detail to describe ethical and legal governance for the owner’s behavior and responsibilities of animals.
In the errant storyline of the recent movie “Noah,” the Creator wills to destroy all of humanity so that the earth and the animals will repopulate – creating a utopia without man. The anti-man spirit is communicated throughout the movie. The only reasonable conclusion is that all men are cruel and deserving of death. The highest good of the earth is for the extinction of humanity.
Our Advisor says that the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel. Yes, there is a relationship between Man and the earth – but that relationship is based upon the righteousness of mankind and the lack thereof. When men sin, the earth recoils, trembles, and bursts out of frustration (Romans 8). A righteous man is a steward of the land but is also kind to animals.
Remember:
A righteous man is the best caretaker of animals. Share on XKnow someone who would enjoy receiving The Daily Champion?
