Day 308: Focus
Proverbs 4:25
Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.
Principle
Your life will always move in the direction of your focus.
“My father could look straight ahead but concentrate on something on the very edge of his vision, almost nearly behind him.” – Dale Earnhardt Jr.
There is something very genuine about this statement about the famed NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt. Being able to fix your eyes straight ahead, focus on where you are going, and yet have a sense of what is chasing you.
That’s something that we need to master and hewn in our skill set as men in the pursuit of authentic manhood. We must focus on where we’re going but also have the realization that we’re being chased.
A man of broken focus is bound to fail. We’re doomed to hit the wall if we take too much time to look back or around and break focus. Authentic manhood doesn’t have time for trivial pursuits. We must take this role, this passionate pursuit, seriously.
We can certainly have good times and fun adventures, but make no mistake about it — the kind of man you want to be isn’t going to happen by meandering through.

Thanks, Sanford. Thank you for sharing and being a voice for authentic manhood.
Thanks Neil for the Daily Champion! The one that reads Proverbs four missed reading verses 19 and 20 in this recording. I hope that you have a great day!
