Day 124: Mentors or Mistakes
Proverbs 4:13
Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.
Principle
You either gain wisdom through a mentor or by making mistakes. I recommend mentors.
We’re living in unprecedented times. Think about it. In the history of man, we’ve never had a time when information has been more accessible than right now. We have portals that allow the average guy the ability to penetrate the deepest resources of information simply from our computers or smartphones.
It wasn’t that long ago that only the very wealthy were privileged to access vast amounts of data. The average guy was too busy scrapping, working long hours and short nights to just make ends meet.
The real privilege that we have is the amount of time that we can save by our technology to gain wisdom and knowledge. We can easily access the greatest minds of history from our smartphones or laptops.
Our Advisor tells us to get good advice and then hold on to it tightly. You either gain wisdom through a mentor or by making mistakes. Choose a mentor.
You don’t have to know the mentor – you need to listen to what he has said or read what he has written. Let me give you some advice – if you ever have a meeting with your mentor – make sure that you’ve read everything that he has written and don’t waste his time by asking a question that he has already taken the time to write. That is insulting.

Good evening,
Psalm 4 still has verses 19-20 missing in the recording.
