Day 63: The Good Life
Proverbs 4:10
My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life.
Principle
Your Father has some good advice for you.
I have met thousands of men – not one of them has said to me that they want to live a destructive and disastrous life. Yet, countless men are roaming, aimless, have destructive habits, and are causing collateral damage among their families and friends. It doesn’t have to be that way.
God wants to speak to you as He would His son because that’s what He regards you as – He loves you like a son. Jesus said, “In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me…” (John 16:26)
Jesus clearly says that the Father wants a direct relationship with you. He desires that you listen to Him and do what He says so that you may have a long and good life.
The Apostle Paul tells us that honoring our Father comes with a promise, “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” (Ephesians 6:3)
